What is the difference between the thermoplastic road line marking machine and cold spray road line paint machine?

01Product form

The cold-spray road marking paint is packed in liquid barrels; the hot-melt road marking paint is packed in powder bags.

02Product type

Hot-melt road marking paint is divided into hot-melt road marking paint, hot-melt protruding road marking paint, hot-melt colored non-slip road marking paint.

Cold spray marking paint is divided into one-component or two-component cold spray marking paint, scraping type marking paint, structural marking paint, colored non-slip road marking paint, water-based road marking paint, fluorescent marking paint Line paint, all-weather reflective line paint.

03Construction method

Hot-melt marking paint is solid powder at normal temperature. During construction, the paint needs to be put into the melting kettle. The temperature in the kettle is controlled between 180°C and 210°C. Stir while melting. Put it into the insulation melting hopper of the marking car.

The molten paint is then introduced into the marking hopper and kept warm to keep the material molten. Before scribing, there is a pre-marking machine marking position, and the primer is applied on the coating position indicated by the design drawing with an undercoating machine. After the undercoating agent is completely dry, the marking paint can be applied.

Cold-spray type marking paint can be used for direct construction and marking without heating the paint. After diluting the marking paint to a certain extent with a thinner, use a brush, roller or cold-spray marking machine to draw the line, and the color is clear , the process is relatively simple.

04Construction materials

The paint film thickness of cold spray type marking paint is 0.3MM-0.9MM, and the general construction thickness is about 0.5. The cold spray construction only needs about 0.25 kg of materials per square meter.

The thickness of the hot-melt marking paint film is 0.9MM-3.3MM, and the general construction thickness is about 1.5-1.8. The hot-melt construction requires 4-5 kg ​​of materials per square meter.

05 Shelf life

The shelf life of cold-sprayed marking paint is 1 year according to the relevant national standard, and the shelf life of hot-melt marking paint is 2 years according to the relevant national standard.

06 Treatment of old markings

The thickness of the cold-sprayed marking line is relatively low, and it can be covered and painted, or the original marking line can be removed before painting. However, if the hot-melt marking is covered again, it will not be beautiful. Therefore, in many construction sites, the old line must be removed by a grinder before the new hot-melt road marking can be painted.

07Construction safety

The construction of hot-melt scribing will generate an open flame to heat the paint, which is easy to cause safety hazards. Moreover, some floors and parking lots cannot withstand high temperatures, and the thermoplastic road marking machine is not convenient for construction. Relatively speaking, the cold-spray type liner paint is applied at room temperature and is safer.
