Classification of Water Well Drilling Rigs

Water wells are generally divided into three types: water supply tube wells, large wells, and radiation wells. Generally, the well is deeper and the diameter of the well is relatively large. The wells composed of the wellhead, the good pipe, the aquifer, and the necessary filters are called tube wells; the wells with a diameter greater than 2m are collectively referred to as large wells; it consists of a large-diameter collection well A water intake system composed of several to dozens of horizontal radiant pipes with a certain length of multi-layer, several to dozens of horizontal radiant tubes driven into the aquifer in a different direction from the collection well is called a radiant well. Generally, the machinery that can be used for water well drilling is water well drilling rigs. Water supply tube wells are long-term use of groundwater intake structures. They are wells built for water supply. They are different from general exploration holes and require larger diameters, with specific good structures, well pipes, and filter pipes. Except for deep wells and geothermal wells that require large water well drilling equipment, small water well drilling rigs are generally used for water well drilling. In addition, the construction period of the water well is short, the mobility is large, and the relocation is frequent, and the drilling equipment required to be used should not be too heavy.

The water well drilling machine can not only drill water wells but is also widely used in geological prospecting, road and bridge building foundation surveys, geotechnical engineering blast holes, grouting holes, concrete engineering structural quality inspection, and other fields.

Water well drilling machines can generally be classified according to various methods such as assembly form, drilling depth, driving equipment type, and drilling technology.

1. Divided by drilling depth

Water well drilling rigs can be divided into the following categories according to the drilling depth:

1. Shallow well drilling rig: the drilling depth is not more than 300 meters

2. Medium-deep well drilling rig: the drilling depth is in the range of 300-800 meters

3. Deep well drilling rig: the drilling depth is in the range of 800-2000 meters

4. Ultra-deep well drilling rig: drilling depth of more than 2000 meters

2. Divided by type of drive equipment

Water well drilling equipment can be divided into the following categories according to the type of drive equipment:

1. Electric drive drilling rig: AC motor provides power to the turntable to drive the drill pipe, equipped with taps, kelly, lifter, etc., to achieve pressure and decompression by its own weight and drawworks.

2. Mechanically driven drilling rig: Diesel engines are mainly used to provide power to the turntable to drive drill rods, equipped with faucets, kelly rods, lifters, etc., to achieve pressure and pressure reduction by its own weight and drawworks.

3. Hydraulic drilling rig: The power head is used to drive the drill rod by hydraulic pressure. The power head is both a faucet and a lifter. It functions as a drawworks when lifting the drilling tool and pressurizing and decompressing when drilling.

3. Divided by assembly form

Water well drilling machine can be divided into bulk type, trailer type, and vehicle type, and crawler type according to the assembly form.

4. Divided by drilling method

Drilling rigs can be divided into the following categories according to drilling methods:

There are many drilling methods for water well drilling, and the commonly used drilling methods include rotary drilling, percussive drilling, and percussive rotary drilling.
