Types of Drilling Rigs

Drilling rigs are divided into the following categories according to the scope of use, and users can choose according to their own construction requirements.

1. Core drilling rig

Core drilling rigs are suitable for core drilling of large and small diameters, mainly alloy stones and diamonds. They are suitable for metal and non-metal solid mineral deposit exploration, shallow oil and natural gas exploration, geothermal good exploration, mine tunnel ventilation, drainage, and The construction of large-diameter foundation piles is widely used in geology, metallurgy, coal, hydrology, water wells, engineering, and other fields.

2. Water well drilling rig

The mechanical equipment for drilling water wells and completing operations such as downhole pipe and well washing is generally divided into three categories: rotary machine, percussion drilling machine, and compound rotary machine. Water well drilling rigs can be divided into bulk type, trailer type, and vehicle-mounted type, small water well drilling rigs, and crawler type according to the assembly form; according to the drilling depth, they can be divided into shallow good drilling rigs, medium-deep well drilling rigs, deep well drilling rigs; according to the type of driving equipment can be divided For mechanical drive drilling rigs, electric drive drilling rigs, hydraulic drilling rigs.

3, Down the Hole Drilling Rig

Down the hole drilling rigs can drill holes in rocks of medium-hard or above (f8). Like the rock drill, it has the process of rock drilling and hole formation of impact, rotation, ballast removal, and advancement, and both belong to the percussion rotary drilling. Like the external rotary rock drill, it has an independent slewing mechanism and an impact mechanism. The difference is that the impact mechanism of the down-the-hole drilling rig is installed at the front end of the drill pipe, submerged into the bottom of the hole, and continues to advance as the drilling extends. The down-the-hole drill is named after the impactor dives into the bottom of the hole.

DTH drilling rig is not like rock drills for connecting rod drilling. The energy loss increases with the lengthening of the drill rod, so it can drill deep and large holes; when used in downhole drilling, compared with rock drills, because the impactor works deep into the hole, The noise of the working face is greatly reduced; when used in open-pit drilling, the drilling speed is increased by 2-3 times compared with the wire rope percussion drilling rig, the degree of mechanization is higher, the auxiliary operation time is less, and the drilling rig operating rate is improved; The drilling rig is light in weight, flexible in maneuverability, and low in investment costs. It can drill oblique holes in particular, which is beneficial to control the grade of ore, increase the stability of the slope, eliminate roots, and improve blasting quality. According to different operating environments, there are two types of downhole drilling rigs and open-air downhole drilling rigs.
